How a Los Angeles account works

You can put roll-offs, portable toilets, and restroom trailers on one agreement. We coordinate providers that have completed jobs in the Los Angeles area, and we stay on the account after the drop. How a hauler, a broker, and a managed network differ is the longer comparison. Statewide rules, including CALGreen, sit on the California page. What follows is the City of Los Angeles and the Census metro around it.

Deliveries in the Los Angeles metro

The rows count delivered work in the Census metro Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, CA, using the job-site ZIP, across October 26, 2024 through October 26, 2026. Canceled jobs are left out. Construction, events, and commercial stops are all in the rows.

Figures are counts of completed deliveries, providers, and accounts in this window from our records, as of October 2026. Roll-off deliveries are containers delivered. Portable toilet deliveries are units placed, not orders. A company that completed both services is counted in both service rows, so those rows are not a split of the provider total. The counts are not a promise that every address is covered. Front-load service, compactors, and balers are not in these counts. The sanitation figure adds portable toilets and hand-wash units placed. Where a restroom-trailer count is shown, it is units placed.

Permits and the right-of-way

A container on a private lot and a container in the street are different permissions. This briefing uses City of Los Angeles pages read October 26, 2026. Confirm the current rule with the city before you occupy the street. Long Beach and Anaheim appear in the Census title and publish their own street rules.

Dumpsters and materials in the street

StreetsLA issues a Building Materials Permit when private construction needs the public right-of-way, usually a sidewalk. Investigation and Enforcement pre-inspects. Engineering can join if an A-permit or B-permit is open, and LADOT can require a traffic control plan. The permit runs for a maximum of 60 days. A construction trailer inside the project footprint sits outside that permit.

Portable toilets at events

A street closure uses the StreetsLA special events portal. The application is due 45 days ahead, with a petition, insurance, and an indemnification form. On park property, the Recreation and Parks worksheet revised June 30, 2023, says one portable restroom per 200 persons, ten percent accessible, plus hand-washing sinks. That ratio lives on the parks worksheet. Crew counts for a construction site are on the OSHA guide.

Disposal and C&D recycling

LA Sanitation and Environment enforces the construction and demolition ordinance approved March 5, 2010, Council File 09-3029. Mixed construction and demolition waste generated in the city goes with a permitted hauler to a City-certified processor. The 2026 list, updated January 16, 2026, includes American Reclamation at 4560 Doran Street, City Terrace Recycling at 1525 Fishburn Avenue, and Crown Recycling Services at 9189 DeGarmo Avenue in Sun Valley. Those three names are on the city's processor list.

Sunshine Canyon Landfill is the joint City and County landfill near Sylmar and Granada Hills. The County's March 18, 2025 facility list places it at 14747 San Fernando Road, Sylmar, and lists construction and demolition among accepted materials. The same list names Calabasas Landfill at 5300 Lost Hills Road, Agoura. The list was written for wildfire debris. Ask the facility to confirm acceptance before the load moves. CALGreen stays on the California page.

Planning a Los Angeles site

Title 8, section 3395 requires shade at an outdoor job site when the temperature exceeds 80 degrees Fahrenheit, plus drinking water and a written heat plan. A construction and demolition project still needs the hauler permit, a certified processor, and a construction waste management plan. A container on the private lot uses a different permission from a container on the sidewalk or in the street, and the sidewalk case is the StreetsLA permit.
