Roll-offs and portable sanitation for sites in Florida.

For facilities, procurement, and project managers with sites in Florida. Local providers do the work. Detritus holds one agreement and sends one invoice. This page is about the state. It is not a city rental page.

What Detritus does in Florida

Detritus does not own a yard. A provider with trucks in the market delivers the roll-off or services the portable toilet. Detritus quotes the work, keeps the service record, pays the provider, and bills the customer. The same agreement can hold roll-offs, portable toilets, and restroom trailers. How a hauler, a broker, and a managed network differ is the longer comparison. Multi-site facilities is the page for a portfolio that crosses more than one state.

Roll-off containers are on dumpster rental. Portable toilets are on portable toilet rental. Restroom trailers are on restroom trailer rental. A single container in one city is a different request. Dumpster Rental Dogs and Porta Potty Dogs quote that work.

Approved accounts can be offered Net 30, 60 or 90 payment terms. Payment terms are available to approved accounts only and are subject to credit review and approval. Detritus may require a deposit, prepayment or a credit card on file, and may set, change or withdraw terms at its discretion. Terms offered to any customer are set in the written agreement or quote; nothing on this page is an offer of credit. See the terms of use.

The network in Florida

These figures are work Detritus coordinated, as of October 2026. They are rounded down. Providers in our network that completed at least one roll-off or portable toilet delivery in the past two years, from October 26, 2024 through October 26, 2026. The count is companies we work with in that state. It is not a promise that every address in the state is covered. Jobs are deliveries in that same period at sites in the state. Each portable toilet figure is one unit placed, not one order.

Florida rules a buyer should know

This is a buyer’s briefing. It is not legal advice, and it is not a compliance certificate. Read the current text, and the ordinance that applies to the site, before you rely on it.

The recycling goal and construction debris

Florida Statutes section 403.706 (2026), read October 26, 2026, requires each county to implement a recyclable-materials program with a goal of recycling recyclable solid waste by 75 percent by December 31, 2020. The same section finds that recycling construction and demolition debris serves a state interest, and it requires each county to implement a program for recycling that debris. The goal is a county program goal. It is not a diversion percentage written onto one job site.

Section 403.707(9)(g) requires Department of Environmental Protection rules that, to the extent economically feasible, all construction and demolition debris be processed before disposal, either at a permitted materials recovery facility or at a permitted disposal facility. The paragraph does not apply to recovered materials, materials that have been source separated and offered for recycling, or materials that have been previously processed. Subsection (9)(f) says a permit under that section is not required to dispose of construction and demolition debris on the property where it is generated, and the property must be covered, graded, and vegetated as necessary when disposal is complete. Florida DEP’s construction and demolition page, read October 26, 2026, points to the definition in Florida Administrative Code rule 62-701.200 and to annual reporting under rule 62-701.730(12).

Portable restrooms

Florida Administrative Code rule 62-6.0101, effective June 21, 2022, and read October 26, 2026, is the Department of Environmental Protection rule for portable restrooms, portable hand-washing facilities, restroom trailers, and portable or stationary holding tanks. A company that services those units obtains an annual permit for the county where it has an office or storage yard. Waste is transported to an approved treatment facility without leakage or a sanitary nuisance. At a commercial or residential building site, portable restrooms or other restroom facilities are provided for the duration of construction any time workers are present. Portable restrooms at a building site do not require a department construction permit, and they still have to comply with the rule. A stationary holding tank requires a construction permit before it is placed. Table PR II in the rule sets the number of facilities at building sites and assumes service once a week, with the count divided when the units are pumped more often. This page does not reprint that table.

A container on a public street

The solid-waste and portable-restroom rules above do not issue a permit to place a roll-off on a city street. Florida Statutes section 337.406 (2026), read October 26, 2026, regulates certain uses of a state transportation facility right-of-way. Inside a city, the municipality is the authority that may issue a limited-duration permit for a temporary use the section otherwise prohibits, when the use will not interfere with safe traffic. Before a road on the State Highway System is temporarily closed, the local government must obtain prior written approval from the Florida Department of Transportation. The section is not a dumpster ordinance, and it does not list local street rules. This page does not name cities.

Public disposal cost

Florida DEP publishes 2025 Solid Waste Disposal Fees, a table of disposal fees by county. The document page was last modified June 30, 2026, and it was read October 26, 2026. The Class 1 column is not one statewide rate, and a number of counties are blank. This page does not average the counties. The fees are county disposal postings. They are not a container price, and they are not a Detritus quote, offer, or price guarantee. Only a written Detritus quote is binding.

Common questions

Does the Florida provider count mean every address in the state is covered?

No. 200+ is the rounded count of providers in our network in Florida, as of October 2026. Providers in our network that completed at least one roll-off or portable toilet delivery in the past two years, from October 26, 2024 through October 26, 2026. That count is not a promise that every address in the state is covered. Send the site list for a coverage answer on a specific address.

What was delivered at Florida sites?

In the two years ending October 26, 2026, jobs at Florida sites round down to 6,000+. That includes 1,000+ roll-off jobs and 4,000+ portable toilet units placed. Customer accounts with a Florida job site round down to 2,000+. A portable toilet count is units placed, not orders. These figures are rounded down from work Detritus coordinated.

Who permits portable toilet service in Florida?

Florida Administrative Code rule 62-6.0101 requires an annual Department of Environmental Protection permit for the company that services portable restrooms, hand-washing facilities, restroom trailers, and holding tanks. The permit is for the county where the company has an office or a storage yard. Waste goes to an approved treatment facility. Building sites need restroom facilities whenever workers are present. A stationary holding tank needs a construction permit. The rule's Table PR II sets building-site counts and assumes weekly service unless the units are pumped more often.

Does Florida require a statewide construction recycling percentage on every job?

Section 403.706 sets a county recycling-program goal of 75 percent by December 31, 2020, and it requires each county to have a construction and demolition debris recycling program. Section 403.707(9)(g) requires that, to the extent economically feasible, construction and demolition debris be processed before disposal. That is not a percentage written onto one container. The county program and the facility permit decide the haul.

Is there a single Florida landfill price on this page?

No. Florida DEP's 2025 Solid Waste Disposal Fees table lists fees by county, and the Class 1 column is not one statewide rate. This page does not average the counties. Those fees are not a Detritus quote. Only a written Detritus quote is binding.
