Orlando sends project debris to approved roll-off haulers

Local haulers do the work; we hold the contract, own the problems, and send one bill. Orlando requires an approved hauler for roll-off project debris, and Orange County's landfill, the only county facility that takes C&D, posted a new rate on October 1, 2026.

Short answer

  • The city says all collection and removal of non-putrescible project debris, such as C&D, Class III, and concrete, must be handled by an approved roll-off hauler.
  • A company hauling inside city limits without approval is subject to city code violations and fines.
  • Orange County accepts C&D debris only at its landfill, not at its transfer stations, and an uncovered load pays a double fee.
  • 16 providers in our provider network have completed jobs in Orlando.

An approved list and a county gate

Orlando project debris passes two checkpoints: the city's approved roll-off hauler list, then the county landfill scale. We keep your sites on one account and answer for both. When a pickup gets missed, we contact the hauler the same business day.

In Orlando, check the approved hauler list before you check price, because an unapproved truck puts the violation on the job. Then think about the county gate. Construction debris goes to the landfill, not a transfer station, so travel time drives how quickly a container comes back empty on a busy site. Keep loads covered on the way out, and keep concrete and clean debris out of the trash stream so they don't ride to the wrong place. The county charges extra for uncovered loads, and that charge shows up later, long after anyone remembers which driver skipped the tarp.

In the wet season, afternoon storms can leave a container full of rainwater and soaked debris, which weighs more at the scale and can push a load over its limit. Tarps between pulls and a quick look after heavy rain keep that from becoming a surprise on the invoice.

Figures are counts of completed deliveries, providers, and accounts in this window from our records, as of October 2026. Roll-off deliveries are containers delivered. Portable toilet deliveries are units placed, not orders. A company that completed both services is counted in both service rows, so those rows are not a split of the provider total. The counts are not a promise that every address is covered. Front-load service, compactors, and balers are not in these counts. The sanitation figure adds portable toilets and hand-wash units placed. Where a restroom-trailer count is shown, it is units placed.

Project debris needs an approved hauler

The city's solid waste page says all collection and removal of non-putrescible project debris, such as construction and demolition, Class III, and concrete, has to go through an approved roll-off hauler, and an unapproved company hauling in the city is subject to code violations and fines. The page lists the approved haulers, so check a company against it before a project starts.

Right-of-way permits and closures

Orlando's Permitting Services Division issues the right-of-way permit for work in the street, under the sidewalk, or in the grassy area beside the street. Apply through the city's online forms and allow two business days to process, then submit plans, which take up to ten business days to review and another ten for corrections. The page doesn't name dumpsters, so ask Permitting Services whether a container needs one. If a street or sidewalk has to close, that's a separate road closure request on top of the permit.
