How we work in Illinois

Local haulers do the work; we hold the contract, own the problems, and send one bill. One agreement can hold roll-off dumpsters, portable toilets, and restroom trailers for every Illinois site. If you’re weighing us against a single hauler, here’s how a broker, a hauler, and our provider network differ.

Figures are counts of completed deliveries, providers, and accounts in this window from our records, as of October 2026. Roll-off deliveries are containers delivered. Portable toilet deliveries are units placed, not orders. A company that completed both services is counted in both service rows, so those rows are not a split of the provider total. The counts are not a promise that every address is covered. Front-load service, compactors, and balers are not in these counts.

State rules

Illinois rules a buyer should know

What follows is a buyer’s summary of the Illinois rules that change the buy. It is not legal advice, so check the current text and the site’s local ordinance before you rely on it.

Where construction debris can go

Illinois EPA’s general construction or demolition debris page says that beginning July 6, 2024, no one may own or operate a general construction or demolition debris recovery facility without an Illinois EPA permit. In Chicago, the construction and demolition site recycling page says contractors on covered projects must recycle at least 50% of the recyclable debris and file a Recycling Compliance Form with the Department of Public Health at the end of the project. A facility’s permit can be narrower than the rule. Confirm acceptance with the facility before the haul.

Who may haul portable toilet waste

77 Ill. Adm. Code 905.135 sets the Portable Sanitation Business License. The business must state that only certified portable sanitation technicians and trainees will transport, service, clean, or pump portable toilets and portable hand washing units. Crew counts are on the OSHA portable toilet requirements guide.

A container on a public street

Chicago’s Department of Transportation permit portal lists DOT Dumpster as its own permit type, issued for the large roll-off dumpsters most often seen at construction sites. Other Illinois municipalities set their own rules.

Public disposal cost

415 ILCS 5/22.15 sets the state solid waste management fee for sanitary landfills that take more than 150,000 cubic yards a year at 95 cents per cubic yard or $2.00 per ton. Landfills permitted to take only demolition or construction debris or landscape waste are exempt. That’s a state fee on disposal, not a customer price. More on disposal fees is in the landfill tipping fees guide.
