How we work in Michigan

Local haulers do the work; we hold the contract, own the problems, and send one bill. One agreement can hold roll-off dumpsters, portable toilets, and restroom trailers for every Michigan site. If you’re weighing us against a single hauler, here’s how a broker, a hauler, and our provider network differ.

Figures are counts of completed deliveries, providers, and accounts in this window from our records, as of October 2026. Roll-off deliveries are containers delivered. Portable toilet deliveries are units placed, not orders. A company that completed both services is counted in both service rows, so those rows are not a split of the provider total. The counts are not a promise that every address is covered. Front-load service, compactors, and balers are not in these counts.

State rules

Michigan rules a buyer should know

What follows is a buyer’s summary of the Michigan rules that change the buy. It is not legal advice, so check the current text and the site’s local ordinance before you rely on it.

Where construction debris can go

Michigan’s solid waste disposal areas page lists construction and demolition disposal areas among the disposal area types EGLE regulates, alongside municipal solid waste disposal areas. Construction and demolition debris goes to a licensed facility that accepts it. A facility’s license can be narrower than the rule. Confirm acceptance with the facility before the haul.

Who may haul portable toilet waste

MCL 324.11702 says a person shall not service septage waste, or contract to have it serviced, without a septage waste servicing license and a septage waste vehicle license. You also can’t contract with someone who doesn’t hold both. EGLE’s septage waste FAQ says portable toilet waste is defined as septage waste, licenses run on a 5-year cycle, and the business pays fees every year to keep them. Construction crew counts under the federal standard are on the OSHA portable toilet requirements guide.

A container on a public street

Detroit’s right-of-way permits page says a permit from the City Engineering Division of DPW is required before occupying a street, alley, sidewalk, or berm, and lists Dumpster as its own permit type. Work in the Central Business District also goes through the Technical Review Committee, which meets weekly on Tuesdays. Other Michigan cities set their own rules.

Public disposal cost

MCL 324.11525a sets a surcharge of 36 cents per ton on solid waste disposed of in a non-captive landfill before October 1, 2027. That’s a state surcharge on disposal, not a customer price. More on disposal fees is in the landfill tipping fees guide.

Michigan's solid waste disposal areas page lists construction and demolition disposal areas among the disposal area types EGLE regulates, alongside municipal solid waste disposal areas. Construction and demolition debris goes to a licensed facility that accepts it.

Who may pump portable toilets in Michigan?

Can my Michigan sites share one agreement and one invoice?

Yes. Every Michigan address can sit on the same agreement, whatever mix of roll-offs, portable toilets, and restroom trailers it needs. Approved accounts can be offered Net 30, 60, or 90, subject to credit review. Nothing on this page is an offer of credit. See the terms of use.
