Past performance

Task orders on the public record

Two completed Department of Defense task orders. They are modest in value, but the award data is public, so they need no client consent to cite.

Our largest public program is a multi-site deployment for a state military department in West Texas, running continuously since December 2022. It and eleven other programs are summarized on past performance. Named references, exact volumes and contacts are released on request under a mutual NDA.

How to buy

Quote, order and invoice

The order path is the same for a one-time delivery and a program: a quote, an order on your paperwork and an invoice on the account.

  1. 01

    Request a quote

Call sales at (888) 588-2607 or request a quote with the sites, the services, the quantities and the dates. Each site is priced against local supply.

  2. 02

    Issue the order

Send the purchase order or task order. Your PO number can be held on each site record, so it follows the work.

  3. 03

    Purchase card

Ask us whether your purchase card can be used for the order. We confirm what we can accept before the order is placed.

  4. 04

    One invoice

Invoicing is consolidated on the account, with site detail behind it, and can be split by entity, region or cost center.

Federal thresholds

Micro-purchase and simplified acquisition thresholds

For federal buyers, as defined in FAR 2.101. Contingency, emergency and some other purchases use different figures, and your agency's own procedures apply.1

  • 15,000dollars

    Micro-purchase threshold

The base figure, before the exceptions below.

  • 2,500dollars

Services under Service Contract Labor Standards

The micro-purchase threshold for services subject to 41 U.S.C. chapter 67. Your contracting office decides whether it applies.

  • 2,000dollars

    Construction under wage rate requirements

The micro-purchase threshold for construction subject to 40 U.S.C. chapter 31, subchapter IV.

  • 350,000dollars

    Simplified acquisition threshold

The base figure. Contingency and emergency acquisitions use higher figures.

Above the micro-purchase threshold and up to the simplified acquisition threshold, an acquisition is set aside for small business unless the contracting officer does not expect offers from two or more competitive small businesses.2 Detritus is registered as a small business.

The Governmentwide commercial purchase card is authorized for making and paying for purchases, and agency procedures should not limit it to micro-purchases.3 Your agency sets the card procedures.

State, county and city thresholds are set by each jurisdiction and are not covered here.

Your request for quote

What to include in an RFQ

A complete request gets a complete price. These are the details that change the quote for sanitation, waste and site services.

  • Every site address, with where units or containers can sit
  • Service and quantity per site: units, ADA units, hand wash stations, container sizes
  • Service frequency for each unit or container
  • Start date, duration and removal date, or the period of performance
  • Crew size and hours, which set the restroom count
  • Access rules: gate hours, badging, escorts and vehicle checks
  • Insurance requirements and the certificate holder
  • Wage determination, if the Service Contract Labor Standards apply
  • Invoicing instructions: PO or order number, billing office and any portal
  • Reporting: tonnage, diversion or service logs you need back
  • NAICS code and set-aside, if one applies
  • A point of contact on site and in contracting

For quantities, see how many portable toilets and the dumpster size guide. For a full multi-site solicitation, the waste RFP template has a pricing form and scoring sheet.

DoD and installations

Military installations

Both of our completed federal task orders are Department of Defense awards. On an installation, access rules shape the schedule: who can come on, when, and with what escort or vehicle checks.

Put those rules in the RFQ. The local provider placed on the work has to meet them before the first delivery, and we hold that provider relationship, so you deal with one contractor.

Ask us how provider access for your installation will be handled. We confirm what we can provide before the order is placed.

  • One contractor for sanitation, waste and site services on the installation
  • Insurance certificates and vendor documentation maintained centrally
  • An audit trail on every delivery, service and removal
  • Scheduled and emergency response on the same agreement
  • Coverage that does not depend on a local incumbent being available

State and local

State, county and city buyers

Public programs often mix scheduled service with emergency and mobilization response, and documentation can weigh as heavily as price. Our largest public program has run continuously for more than three years on a single deployment.

Each jurisdiction sets its own purchasing rules. Tell us the method you are using and the forms you need. Our accounts team completes supplier registrations and compliance questionnaires directly.

Buying through a cooperative or piggyback contract? Ask us. We confirm what we can offer at the start.

Common questions

Government contracting questions

Is Detritus registered in SAM.gov?

Yes. The registration is active under UEI N83DJTEKMFX9 and CAGE code 98EA6, and the business size is small.

What NAICS codes do you list?

562991 septic tank and related services, 532490 other commercial and industrial machinery and equipment rental and leasing, and 238910 site preparation contractors.

Have you performed federal work?

Yes. Two completed Department of Defense task orders: N6426724P0005 for standard portable toilets, awarded October 2023, and N3904025P0054 for chemical toilets and hand wash, awarded April 2025.

What is the micro-purchase threshold?

Under FAR 2.101 it is 15,000 dollars, with exceptions: 2,500 dollars for services subject to the Service Contract Labor Standards and 2,000 dollars for construction subject to the wage rate requirements. Contingency and emergency purchases use higher figures.

Can we pay with a government purchase card?

Ask us before you order. We confirm whether your card can be used for that order before it is placed.

Do you hold a GSA schedule or other contract vehicle?

None is listed on our published record. Ask us about the vehicle your office buys through, and we confirm what we can offer at the start.

Can you serve a military installation?

Both of our completed federal task orders are Department of Defense awards. Put the installation access rules in your RFQ, and ask us how provider access will be handled before you order.

How do we get a certificate of insurance and a W-9?

Email info@detritus.us. Certificates are issued on request with the endorsements your contract requires, and a W-9 for the current tax year is available on request.

Send the RFQ or the site list
