A tank is what makes a trailer or an office work on a site with no sewer connection. It is almost never ordered on its own, and the pump-out schedule matters more than the tank.

A tank on a site costs relatively little. Emptying it on a schedule is the recurring charge, and it is what should drive your sizing decision. A larger tank pumped monthly is often cheaper than a smaller one pumped weekly, and it puts fewer trucks through your gate.
Size against fixture load and the pump-out interval you actually want. On a real temporary facility order we ran a freshwater and gray water pairing on a monthly rental with pumping quoted separately per visit, which makes the trade-off explicit rather than bundled into a single number you cannot interrogate.
Where there is no hose bib and no drain, the trailer runs on a freshwater tank and a sealed waste tank. Standard on remote construction and on events in parks and fields. See restroom trailers.
A double-wide with a restroom needs a sewage tank and often a separate gray water tank. Real orders in our record include exactly that pairing on a 250-gallon configuration.
