Temporary fence rental cost

Temporary fence is priced per foot per month, with a separate charge to install and remove it. The spread between bidders can be wide, which is why you compare the same line. This page uses one published public bid to show the spread, with the source, and tells you what to ask so your quote is comparable.

One public bid

What bidders charged per foot

In 2026 the Port of Los Angeles asked for bids on temporary fencing and barricades. The bid form priced construction fence panels, 6 feet high, per foot per month.1

Construction fencing rental, 6 foot panels$1.25, $1.38, $2.50, $2.80, $3.49, $4.50 and $4.90 (seven of the eight entries on the recap)per foot, per month

Install or remove, Saturday job (one bidder)$300.00per job

The recap also shows an entry of $0.22 for the same line, which we left out of the range because it looks like a data entry error. Some figures on the recap are marked corrected by the bidder. These are public contract and bid prices, not Detritus prices. We do not publish our customer prices, and your price will depend on your site, dates and local providers.

Give us the linear feet, the gates and how long it stays. We source fence from local providers and keep install, rental and removal on one agreement.

Making quotes comparable

What to ask on any fence quote

A price per foot only works if the lines around it match.

  1. 01

    What is a foot?

Panels, stands, clamps and bracing can be inside the price per foot or priced separately. Ask what is included, and whether gates are extra.

  2. 02

    Is install separate?

In this bid install and removal were priced per job, not per foot. Ask for the install price for your job size and day.

  3. 03

    How long is the period?

The bid form set a maximum rental period. Ask what happens to the monthly price if the job runs long.

  4. 04

    Windscreens and extras

Privacy screens, sandbags and barricades appear as their own lines on the bid. Ask about any that your site needs.

Common questions

Temporary fence cost questions

How much does temporary fence rental cost?

One published port bid shows prices from 1.25 to 4.90 dollars per foot per month for 6 foot construction fence panels, with install and removal charged separately per job. Your price depends on the site, length and duration.

Is fence priced per foot or per panel?

This bid used per foot per month. Some providers quote per panel. Ask for the length covered and divide to compare.

Not in this bid. Install and removal were separate charges per job. Always ask.

Why is there such a spread between bids?

Are these Detritus prices?

No. They are public bid prices from one port. We do not publish our customer prices.

Can you supply fence in several cities?

Yes. We source local providers on one agreement. Call sales at (888) 588-2607 with the lengths and dates.
